Bringing EWiF to South Wales: Launching a New Hub for Franchising Conversations

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I have joined the EWiF management team and am launching a NEW South Wales group!

EWiF South Wales launches on Friday 7th March as a celebratory event for International Women’s Day.

This marks the beginning of a new chapter for franchising in Cardiff and beyond, ensuring more women have the opportunity to explore franchising as a pathway to business success.

As the new Regional Chair for Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWiF) South Wales, my mission is to create a space where women can connect, learn, and explore franchising—whether they are considering investing in a franchise, franchising their business, or growing an existing network.

Franchising is a proven model for business growth, yet, I feel it remains underrepresented in South Wales.

Too many people assume it’s just for big fast-food chains, when in reality, it spans industries from marketing and education to fitness and finance. EWiF South Wales is here to change that.

What is EWiF and Why Does Cardiff Need It?

EWiF is a national not-for-profit organisation, run entirely by volunteers, dedicated to:

  • Encouraging more women to buy a franchise – Providing a structured, lower-risk way to start a business.
  • Helping businesswomen franchise their existing operations – Offering guidance and support for those looking to scale.
  • Supporting franchisors in attracting more women to their networks – Driving inclusivity and diversity in the franchise sector.

Although the UK franchise industry contributes £19.1 billion to the economy and supports over 700,000 jobs, many in South Wales don’t realise franchising is an option for them. EWiF South Wales will change that by creating opportunities for education, networking, and mentorship. (Data Source, BFA 2024)

What’s Next for EWiF South Wales?

With the launch of EWiF South Wales, I’ll be hosting regular regional meetings in Cardiff, bringing together:

  • Franchisees looking to grow their business
  • Business owners considering franchising their model
  • Entrepreneurs curious about franchising as a route into business ownership
  • Franchisors wanting to expand their networks

These meetings will be a place to connect, learn, and be inspired by real success stories. Topics will include:

  • How to start and grow a successful franchise
  • Understanding the benefits of franchising vs. starting from scratch
  • Franchisee insights and first-hand experiences
  • Best practices for franchisors looking to attract more women into their networks

Join Us for the Launch Event
